just to keep you updated about the new album and all:

We are rapidly getting towards the end of the recording stage. We have all the guitars and basses already recorded, as well as all the keyboard parts for the upcoming album.
Alex did finish his vocal parts yesterday, so he's through as well.
So what's left? Chris still has to record the drums for the last two songs but is well on his way to do so, so this should be done pretty soon.

We have pretty much settled on a track-list for the still untitled album, and here it is:

Hi fellow Progheads,
we just wanted to let you all know about the proceedings in DANTE land at the moment.
We are well on your way with our third studio album, the writing is complete and we are very busy recording this plethora of tracks - talk about Prog... ;-)

So far the whole thing is still running under the working title "passenger", we still have to discuss (and decide!) about all that, as well as about the final track names. The whole thing will again be just over the 60 minute mark. The tracks, in no particular order (with their momentary titles, these may or may not stay like that) are:

It's our preformance of the song "Never Return" from our 2010 album "Saturnine". This one was shot professionally by Roland Kopper (Tuff Sound) and it came out very nice! Thanks a lot Roland!

As far as the production of album 3 is concerned, we are currently busy recording the guitar parts. This is a lot of work, as this time we have two guitar players to record: Markus Berger (who of course is also playing and recording bass) and Markus Bader. We are progressing nicely though!
We will keep you up to date about anything happening!

Hi everyone,
the Lechwood gig last Saturday was fantastic - great crowd and a very beautiful open air stage! It really rocked!
Here's a first video from that night, shot by iPhone by Christina Bulka (thanks Christina!):



The song "Never Return" was professionally shot that night with stationary and hand-held cameras, we hope this will turn out cool! We'll post that one as soon as we get our hands on that! So stay tuned!

As far as the producto of DANTE III is concerned, we are well on our way. The next 3 weeks will be full of guitar recording, as Markus Bader will join us at the studio to record a good portion of his guitar parts. So all is going very well there!

DANTE will play @ this year's Lechwood festival in Schloß Scherneck, August 6th.
We are the closing band on Saturday evening, scheduled time is 2215 CET.

This will be awesome as the open air stage is really very cool there. So far we have no final information about the set length, but rest assured it won't be too short - after all, we are the last band to play!

Hey everybody,
unfortunately the scheduled gig in Landsberg (June, 10th, 2011) had to be cancelled.

We are very sorry for that, but we could not do anything about that.

The organizer seems to have some big problems concerning the whole PA for that night and could not guarantee the minimally required setup, so we had to cancel that event.

Please understand that this is not a picky Rockband-kind of thing - but we are playing complex music and this requires a certain minimum concerning the technical side - and we need to know before if that will be available.

Anyway, more dates will be announced soon, stay tuned and PROG ON!

we have uploaded our live performance of the songs "Last", "Maybe One Day" and "Not Like Myself" from our last live-performance @ the Abraxas Theater (Nov. 27th 2010) to our Youtube channel.



We had a few cameras running that night to catch the whole concert and maybe get a DVD out. Unfortunately, due to a technical problem we could not use the individual instrument tracks to mix it but only the main stereo mix.

So the audio is not perfect but still, the footage is very cool and we just wanted to share it!

This is sad news we have today:
our bassist Michael Neumeier has left DANTE to move to Paris.

Statement DANTE:
Unfortunately we have to announce that our bass player and good friend Michael Neumeier has decided to leave the band to move to Paris.
Towards the end of 2010, Michael was offered a cool job in the city he has always wanted to life in, and after quite some time of really thinking it over, has made the decision that he and his family really want to follow that road. This of course made staying in the band impossible.
We know how hard a decision this was for him, as we have had the chance to share his passion and love for the music we make with him for the last 3 years, and we have the deepest respect for his decision.
Michael will always be a part of the DANTE family, without him, maybe there would be no live band today. It was great to have him around as a musician and friend for these years, and he will be missed dearly.



We wish him and his family the very best of luck for his future!

As for the vacant bass position in DANTE, we have had quite a few auditions, but nothing really worked out to our full satisfaction yet.
Fortunately we always had a second bass player in the band – multi-instrumentalist Markus Berger!

Playing with a few guys and with Markus (on bass), we have come to the decision that at this moment in time, Markus is the best option for us, as he is very capable of the job, already knows the songs in and out [of course! :-)] and has been an integral part of DANTE from day 1. The live band now features Markus A. Bader on guitar and Markus Berger on bass, everything else will stay the same.
Of course, Markus Berger will still play guitar on the coming albums as well.

A few words from our former bass-player:

I had to take the decision to stay with the band or to leave already last November.
I got a job proposal for Paris, a city my heart really beats for. This was a hard decision for me, as both music and France are the most important things in my life.
I decided to leave for Paris, although I knew I had to leave the band behind me. This was not only a decision of making music, but also of the other guys in the band: They became very good friends of mine and I still miss them here in the city of lights. I want therefor to thank them for the past years for making a dream come true: making Prog Rock on a high level and having quite a lot of fun with them.
I want also to thank all the followers of DANTE, because of the family-feeling they gave me.

Finally, I want all of you to know that I'm feeling great here Paris... And I'm trying to get the biggest venues here reserved for the band if they ever decide to play some gigs here.
So see you soon - and if ever you feel like getting in touch with me, feel free to ask the band to forward mails etc to me

we are very happy to announce that guitarist Markus A. Bader has joined DANTE as a full member.

Markus has already been seen with us on stage for the last 6 months as an additional live musician.

The whole band was becoming more and more excited about the idea to incorporate his massive talents not only into the DANTE live act but into the regular band as well.

We all feel he is a great fit for us, as we have had the time to get to know him over the last months, and feel he's a real addition both musically and personally.

We have sent our application for the big southern german Open Air in Passau in June 2011. There are a few big names playing there and there are also some slots for lesser known bands.

'Til the end of December there is a listener voting, and the combined result of a jury decision and the listener votes will decide upon 10 bands that will play a special contest show in February, 3 of which will get into the Open Air.

It would be great if we could bring some Prog there! :-)

ok, so here it is finally:

we just wanted to let you all know that we have signed a contract with ProgRock Records!

Our new album is entitled "Saturnine" and will be released worldwide by ProgRock Records late March 2010 and will hit the stores July 13th, 2010.

We are very happy that we have the support of this great and very dedicated label to help us on our way. This sure will give us a great boost, and we are very statisfied that we can release our new album that way. This is what we have been working for very hard over the last years!

We wanted to take the time to thank Shawn Gordon and all @ ProgRock Records! We are really looking forward to working with you!

When acclaim for our debut release 'The Inner Circle' kept coming in, we realized that DANTE was not only a real affair of the heart for us, but was also very well-received by prog lovers everywhere. Now, as we are releasing our second album 'Saturnine', we're eager to take DANTE even further by signing with ProgRock Reords as our label. We all can't wait to see where the ride will take us!

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you who helped make the Saturday night show such a big fun and successful evening! Thanks for coming so plenty and the support! We really enjoyed playing our music to such a great and supportive audience, and were very happy to present a lot of the new material to all of you!

A big thank you also to the whole Abraxas team, it was a pleasure to work with you (as always).

A very special thanks also to Oli, our trusted sound engineer - you really made it all sound great!

Concerning the new album: we are in the final stages of negotiation with different labels (and that whole process has kept us from releasing the music so far), but will decide about that in the coming days.

It has become sort of a tradition for us to do one or two host-gigs at the wonderful Abraxas Theater, and the next incarnation of that will be on Saturday, February 6th 2010.

In contrast to what we did before, we courageously decided to skip the opener spot and do a Dream Theater-like "Evening with..." show. So expect A LOT OF music from us...of course, this concert will see the material of the new album, as well as the stuff from "The Inner Circle".

Again, we will have the full show with all the visuals and stuff, we are working full throttle on the new ones right now!

Hi fellow Progheads,
we did it! Our 2nd album is done!

Mixes had been ready for 2 weeks now, and just yesterday we finished the Mastering in our own RedTube Studios. As always, once you get to the point of Mastering, you think you..re almost through it all, but it then turns out to be quite some work to get songs that sound good individually to sound good as an album (and that is very important I think, despite what all the single-based mainstream radio junk proposes!), but we are very happy with the result now!

Of course, there are still a few things to do (contacting the notary, checking with agencies and stuff), but we hope we will make the 2009 release! As to this point it is not yet clear whether we again will self-release it or not, we don..t want to give out any more information just yet.

We just wanted to thank all you out there who kept us going and encouraged us in what we are doing! Thanks so much!

Hi everybody,
ust a quick update on what we are doing right now.

As you know we were moving our studio and have been busy renovating the new rooms. Though one of the rooms still is not completely ready, we could temporarly move the recording and mixing stuff into the other one, so we were able to resume the fixing and mixing-work for the upcoming album finally.

We are very happy to get back to what we really want to do, renovating has been much tougher than we thought once we started digging into it.

If everything goes well, we should be done with the whole mixing issue very soon. We are really longing to get that album out as we think it totally rocks!

With great pleasure have we seen our debut "The Inner Circle" finding its way to Italy lately (simply crossing the alps sometimes is more difficult than crossing the Atlantic it seems ) and we are getting some nice reviews there as well. The latest one is from Rock Impressions .

Hey folks,
as you know we are producing in our very own "The Hidden Studios". They have served us well in the last couple of years, but we were rapidly reaching the limit of what we can do space wise.
So, for quite some time now we wanted to move that into a much bigger location, and with the beginning of the new month we finally found our new rooms and started moving the whole studio.

Of course, this will take quite some time as we have to build everything from scratch again, and do quite some renovation in the new rooms. As annoying and time-consuming as that is, this will give us much better opportunities to work than before, so it just has to be done now.
It was our plan to move the studio after we finished our new album, but we just got that opportunity to move into these new rooms now, so we just had to take advantage of that as it was a limited-time offer.

We will continue working on the album as soon as everything works again. And dont you worry - new album will be upon you soon!!

Good news everyone,
we are very happy to announce that the writing for our 2nd album is done!

We got a huge amount of hard rocking, progressive music done over the last year, and we are very excited with how all that turned out! With the writing done we have just entered our very own Hidden Studios once again and started the mixing process a week ago. Of course, it will take us quite some time to get all the production done (as you can imagine!), but we will keep all of you Progheads updated. The year 2009 will definitely see the new DanteAlbum! Time to get excited!

As with our debut "The Inner Circle", Alex has taken the challenge to once again create some progressive-design-wizardry for the booklet, and what we have seen so far looks absolutely awesome!

Furthermore, last Thursday saw the photoshoot for Dante 2009. This time we had the pleasure to work with Ben & Chris (who already did take the amazing Live shots @ the Abraxas gig) and entered the studio @ the FH Augsburg so we had all the professional equipment possibly needed right at hand. We cannot express our gratitude towards both Chris and Ben enough, we had a friggin good time there, and your effort was absolutely amazing, working for almost straight 12 hours! Thanks so much!!

So, much is happening right now in our world, and exciting things these are for us. We will keep you updated on everything, until then: be well, take care and PROG ON!

As far as the album production is concerned we are well on our way with the current song "Last", which so far is easily the heaviest Dante has ever written! Gonna be interesting to see how this turns out - you..ll never know where a DanteSong ends before it does! :-)
We will keep you updated on all matters concerning the album and everythinh else!

Hey folks,
after our show @ the Abraxas Theater we have entered the studio again to complete the writing of our new album in the coming 2 months.

The gig itself was fantastic, we all had a great time, and so had the audience (plenty as it fortunately was despite of the snow storm!). We played the whole "The Inner Circle" album as well as a few new songs, and the reaction to the new material encouraged us in our believe that the new album will be a step forward for us!

Furthermore, we have made big changes to our media presence.

There is a new layout to our whole web-presence (Website, Myspace, YouTube). It is best viewed with a resolution of 1200 or higher.

As you can see, we added a Dante-Youtube channel to post videos there. We have two videos of the Abraxas gig up there (though we did not plan on that - but we got hold of some camcorder material that was filmed there and had a reasonable good audio and video quality). We will add to that later. Also, we uploaded a few songs with the original live-visuals. Hope you enjoy it!
